Jessica Kirkpatrick’s large drawing/ink painting installation is inspired by graphic novels and fresco murals. Using the principals of sequential art, Ancient Pain creates a quasi-narrative about a dysfunctional mask persona, which ceases to provide a working identity, is shed, then opens to the possibility for personal freedom.
