For most people the image of a flexible person is someone who can do the splits, and is probably the pose most people want to be able to achieve. In reality splits are but a small part of a flexible body, as you need to include back bending, lateral bending, forward bending, twisting, hip rotations, inversions, balancing poses, and core strength poses. However rightly or wrongly the splits is still the holy grail for most people.
